Redoubtline Privacy Policy
Effective date: 13 August 2026
Last updated: 13 August 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Redoubtline ("the Service", "we", "us") collects, uses, stores and protects your information. It applies to:
the Redoubtline iOS application;
the associated account system and backend services.
Redoubtline is operated by BATESON MANUFACTURING & DESIGN, LLC, a limited liability company registered in the State of Texas, United States, which is the party responsible for the information described in this policy. You can reach us at support@redoubtline.com.
Please read this policy in full before using the Service. By using the Service, you confirm that you understand and accept the practices described in this policy.
Summary (the full text below governs)
We do not log which websites you visit through the Service, and we do not log what you transmit.
We collect only what is necessary to operate your account: your email address, your password (which we store only as an irreversible hash), and account-level data usage statistics.
We do not log your IP address, we do not log your device information, and we do not keep any sign-in history or configuration-fetch history.
We do not sell or rent your personal information, we do not use it for advertising or tracking, and we do not provide it to third parties for their own marketing.
The app has a "Delete account" entry point; you can permanently delete your account and personal data yourself at any time.
1. What we collect
1.1 Information you provide
| Information | Required | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Email address | Yes | Serves as your account identifier; sign-in verification, password recovery, and necessary service-related notices |
| Account password | Yes | Sign-in verification. We store only a salted, irreversible hash. We do not store — and cannot recover — your plaintext password |
We do not ask for your legal name, identity documents, phone number, postal address, or any other identifying material.
1.2 Information generated automatically as you use the Service
| Information | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Guest identifier: a random string generated on first launch | Serves as your identity while you are not registered, used to provide route access and meter usage |
| Usage statistics: upload/download traffic totals for your identity, remaining allowance for the current cycle, and the reset cycle | Metering, showing you your usage, and enforcing your traffic allowance |
A note on traffic statistics: what we count is a total number of bytes, used for metering and limits. It contains no information about the destinations you visited, and none can be inferred from it.
1.3 Local storage
Sign-in credentials and the local preferences the app needs are stored on your device (in the system keychain and the app sandbox) and are removed when you uninstall the app. We do not use advertising identifiers and we do not ship any third-party advertising or cross-app tracking components.
2. What we explicitly do not collect
We do not gather, log, retain or analyse any of the following:
1. the domains, URLs, page contents or search terms of sites you reach through the tunnel;
2. your DNS queries;
3. the content of the data you transmit — we perform no deep packet inspection, and we neither decrypt nor retain your communications;
4. your IP address — we do not record the source IP when you sign in, fetch configuration or establish a connection, and we keep no sign-in history or configuration-fetch history;
5. your device model, operating system version or device identifiers — the client does not report these;
6. your contacts, call history, text messages, photo library, files, location, microphone or camera data, or health data;
7. the advertising identifier (IDFA) or any identifier used for cross-app or cross-site tracking — the Service contains no advertising SDK and serves no ads.
3. Specific notes on the VPN permission
The Redoubtline iOS app needs the system's Network Extension / VPN capability. Its purpose and its limits:
1. Purpose: the permission is used to establish an encrypted tunnel between your device and our relay nodes, and to forward the traffic you have chosen through that tunnel. This is the core function of the Service; without the permission it cannot work.
2. Limits: we use the permission solely to establish and maintain the connection. We do not use it to read, log or analyse your communications, and we do not forward your communications to any third party.
3. Configuration storage: tunnel configuration and node information are stored only on your device (in the app sandbox and the app group container), for connecting and reconnecting.
4. Your control: you can disconnect at any time inside the app, or remove our VPN configuration in iOS under Settings → General → VPN & Device Management. Once disconnected, we no longer receive any of your traffic.
5. Where data goes: while connected, your traffic reaches its destination via our relay nodes. Nodes do not write traffic content to disk while forwarding; they count bytes only, for metering.
4. How we use this information
1. Providing the Service: creating and verifying accounts, issuing node configuration, establishing connections, metering usage.
2. Protecting accounts: rate limits on sensitive endpoints such as sign-in, to resist brute-force and automated abuse (how that limit is implemented is described in section 9).
3. Troubleshooting: diagnosing connection failures, unreachable nodes and similar technical problems — using only the information you supply to us, and only where you have contacted support.
4. Providing route access: confirming your traffic allowance and usage, and providing routes accordingly.
About the guest identifier: when you use guest mode, we generate a random identifier for this installation and use it to provide route access and meter your traffic usage. We generate it randomly — it is not derived from your device and contains no device information — and it disappears when you uninstall the app.
5. Customer support: responding to enquiries you send us through our support channels.
6. Necessary notices: sending verification codes, password resets, service change and expiry reminders — emails directly related to the Service. We do not send marketing email.
7. Legal compliance: cooperating to the extent expressly required by law.
We do not use any of the above for profile-based marketing, ad targeting or cross-app tracking, and we do not sell it to data brokers.
5. Third-party services
To operate the Service we rely on the third parties listed below. Each has access only to the minimum information necessary to provide its service to us:
| Third party | Information accessed | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Email delivery providers | Your email address and message content (verification codes, password reset links, etc.) | Used to deliver account-related email |
| Server and network infrastructure providers | Operational data of the systems hosting our service | Contractually bound not to use that data for their own purposes |
| Apple Inc. | App distribution, updates, and — only if you have opted into sharing in system settings — crash diagnostics | Governed by Apple's own privacy policy |
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We do not use any data collected through the VPN service for any purpose other than operating the Service as described in this policy, and we do not disclose it to any third party for any purpose other than the operational purposes set out in this section — except where section 6 applies.
We do not provide your information to third parties for their own independent marketing, advertising or profiling.
6. Sharing and disclosure
Apart from the service providers above, we disclose your information only:
1. Where legally compelled: pursuant to a mandatory demand made lawfully, in proper form and substance, by an authority with jurisdiction. To the extent the law permits, we first verify its validity and necessity, and limit disclosure to the narrowest possible scope.
2. To protect rights: where necessary to investigate, prevent or deal with fraud, account takeover, or attacks on our infrastructure.
3. With your explicit consent.
For the avoidance of doubt: we cannot produce what we never recorded. Because we do not record the specific sites you visit, the content you transmit, or your IP address in the first place, there is nothing for us to produce under any circumstances.
7. Storage location and retention
Our servers and nodes are located in various countries and regions outside mainland China. By using the Service, you acknowledge that your information will be transferred to, stored in, and processed in those jurisdictions, which may have data-protection laws different from those of your own.
| Data type | Retention |
|---|---|
| Account data (email, password hash, traffic allowance and usage status) | For as long as the account exists; erased immediately on account deletion |
| Usage and traffic statistics | Within the current metering cycle (1 month); reset to zero at the start of each cycle, with no history of past cycles kept |
| Account enforcement records (records of suspension or termination for breach of the Terms, containing an account identifier and the reason) | Retained long-term to prevent circumvention of enforcement; personal identifiers within them are de-identified |
8. Deleting your account and erasing your data
You can delete your account yourself at any time, with no need to contact support and no email request:
Path: open the Redoubtline app → "Me" → the account card at the top → Account security → "Delete account" → read the warning and confirm twice.
What deletion does:
Takes effect immediately, is permanent, and cannot be undone — there is no grace period and no recycle bin;
Erased: the account itself, your email address and password hash, subscription tokens and node configuration authorisation, and your traffic and usage records;
Retained: account enforcement records (records of breaches, attacks or resale, kept to prevent repeated deletion being used to escape enforcement). After deletion these records are unlinked from your identity and kept only in de-identified form;
After deletion the same email address can be registered again immediately, but it will be treated as an entirely new account; previous entitlements are not restored.
Deleting your account also terminates any connection in progress and all service entitlements. Please be sure before you proceed.
9. Data security
In transit: all communication between the app and our servers is encrypted with TLS.
Passwords: stored only as salted hashes; we cannot read your plaintext password. Anyone who claims to be from us and asks for your password is attempting to defraud you — do not respond.
Access control: access to backend data is limited to the people who need it, and is logged.
Rate limiting and abuse control: sensitive endpoints such as sign-in are rate limited to resist brute-force attempts. The counters behind that limit are held in memory only, for the duration of the rate-limiting window; they are never written to disk and are discarded when the window closes — they do not constitute a record of your IP address.
Even with these measures in place, please understand that nothing on the internet is perfectly secure. Use a password for this Service that you do not reuse anywhere else.
10. Minors
The Service is intended for adults aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly offer the Service to minors and do not knowingly collect their personal information. If we find that an account was registered by a minor, we will terminate it and delete the associated information.
11. Your rights
You may:
Access and review: see your account data and usage inside the app;
Correct: change your password and other account data;
Delete: permanently remove your account and personal data via "Delete account" in the app (see section 8);
Withdraw consent: stop using the Service and delete your account — that withdraws all authorisation;
Enquiries and complaints: contact us using the details in section 13.
We will respond within 15 days of receiving your request, and usually within one business day. To prevent impersonation, we may ask you to send the request from your registered email address.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as features or regulations change. The updated version will be published in the app, and the "Last updated" date at the top will change with it.
If an update materially changes what we collect or why, we will tell you separately — by an in-app notice or by email — before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service means you accept the updated policy; if you do not, please stop using it and delete your account.
